Precious Blue platters~♥

These are so special....whilst packing up my dear old dad, my sister-in-law♥

and I had the privilege of sharing my late mom's beautiful blue china she had collected from her travels....she so loved blue~♥

Whilst I know it is traditional to use red and white for Christmas, I might team some of these platters with white for a Christmas table this year...~♥

The tablecloth and napkins are from Venice....

The delft pewter teaspoons from Holland...

And the platters from Stoke-on-Trent...Johnson factory....all these tresures are around 30 years old!

I am joining Susan www.betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com for Tablescape Thursday and here.. http://www.romantichome.blogspot.com/ for Show and Tell Fridays.Won't you join me in browsing all the beautiful blogs there along with me.

And if time permits, please browse my previous post for the most delicious little cake I served on one of these platters...http://justmeshel.blogspot.com/2010/11/dinner-for-my-men-and-special-cake.html

  5. Everything is so beautiful. Those spoons are incredible. I love your last photo, showing them grouped and ready. How wonderful to have treasures from your mother. I am so sorry you lost her. I lost mine 20 years ago and it is hard still. I wonder, would she love my blog? My sister Joni (Red Couch Recipes - you can find her on my side bar) just posted a table with a turkey that she said Mom always used. I cannot remember that for the life of me! But I know it is a treasure because it was hers.

I am your newest friend and follower! How fun to have a friend from your part of the world. Hope to see more of it.

  13. Hi Shell! If these lovelies
    were mine, I would surely
    use them for Christmas! As
a matter of fact, there was
a blue and white spread in
    Matthew Mead's Holiday book
    this year....gorgeous with
    white flowers and even contrasts
    of red...And of course, the
fact that they were your mom's
    make them soooo special.
    Loved having you visit....
    Happy Weekend!
    xx Suzanne
