French Yogurt ♥ Cakes!

Heavenly, melt in your mouth with a hint of tartness and a touch of love!

I haven't had a chance to enjoy my kitchen for a while....so, this week I tried  Monique's little cakes!

I then had some fun playing with sugar! (Talk about over the top!!)

And not forgetting the flowers...a girl can't cook without smelling the roses.....

The Recipe..
Cake:
1 1/2 cups unbleached cake flour
2 tsp b/powder
pinch of salt
2 tsp grated lemon zest 1/2 cup plain whole milk yogurt
1 cup sugar
3 large eggs
1/2 cup veg. oil
Icing:
1 cup icing sugar
2 tablsp lemon juice

Preheat oven to 180degree C
Grease your cake tin or individual moulds.
In a large bowl, combine the yogurt, sugar, and eggs, stirring until well blended. Add the flour mixture and stir just to combine. Add the oil and stir to incorporate. Pour the batter into the prepared pans.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the cake feels springy to the touch and a toothpick or cake tester inserted into the center comes out clean. Do not overbake.
Cool cake on a rack for about 20 minutes; then turn it out of the pan to cool completely.
When the cake is thoroughly cooled, combine the lemon juice and powdered sugar in a small bowl and spoon it gently over the cake. The glaze will be thin and will soak in like a syrup.
Serve immediately.

Thank you Monique

Have a wonderful weekend.
